White Oak 4291 Adjustable with 5 Inch Base and 55" High

This adjustable white oak box newel has a 5" base and stands 55" tall, sized to fit standard stair packages.

Shown raw and unfinished, this white oak newel is noticeably pale and clean-grained compared to the stained box newel elsewhere in this lineup — you're looking at the wood itself, not a finish. The post has a peaked, four-sided cap with a stepped molding band below it, then drops into a plain square shaft. Photographed beside it is the separate base block the post fits over, which is how the adjustable system works: the sleeve gets set and leveled first, and the 55" post trims down into it, so the finished height lands right even when the floor and stair framing aren't perfectly consistent. At a 5" base, it has real presence at the foot of a stair rather than looking thin next to wide treads.
