Look at the cut end of this rail and you'll see the Colonial 6010 profile clearly: a rounded, oval-topped cap that a hand actually wraps around, sitting over a molded shoulder and a fuller, flatter body underneath rather than a plain square bar. It's milled in white oak, left unfinished and pale, so the grain reads tighter and less pronounced than red oak's more open, ruddy figure — the usual reason to choose this over the red oak 6010 is matching white oak flooring or trim already in the house. The profile itself is identical either way; only the species and grain character change. Stain it to whatever your white oak package calls for once it's on site and cut to length.
