The Hardwood Guys Services, LLC ("The Hardwood Guys," "we," "us," or "our") knows that your privacy is important. This Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect the information you provide when you use our website at www.hardwood-guys.com, our social media pages, and any related services.

Information We Collect

In certain situations, you may provide us with personally identifiable information, which may include:

  • Telephone number

  • Project details and messages submitted through our contact forms

We may also automatically collect certain information when you access our website, including your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device identifiers, referral source, pages viewed, and length of visit, using technologies such as cookies and web beacons.

Where estimate requests are stored. When you submit an estimate request it is saved to our own database, hosted on Cloudflare, and a copy is emailed to us through our forms provider so that we see it promptly. We keep enquiries so that we can respond to you, quote your job, and answer questions about work we have carried out. If you would like your enquiry deleted, contact us using the details at the bottom of this page and we will remove it.

How We Use Your Information

We may use your information to:

SMS/Text Messaging Policy

By providing your phone number and opting in via our website contact form, you consent to receive text messages from The Hardwood Guys Services, LLC. These messages may include appointment reminders and confirmations, estimate follow-ups, project status updates, and job completion notifications. Message frequency varies based on your project activity. Message and data rates may apply — check with your wireless carrier for details.

Opt-out: Reply STOP at any time to any text message you receive from us. You'll get one final confirmation message and then stop receiving texts unless you re-subscribe.

Text messaging is not required to use our services — you can always reach us directly by phone. We will not share your phone number with third parties for their marketing purposes. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Compatible carriers include major U.S. carriers such as AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and others.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Rather than describe this in general terms, here is what runs on this website and what each thing does. Several of these are run by other companies under their own privacy policies.

  • Cloudflare Web Analytics — counts page views, visits and referring sites. It sets no cookies and uses no cross-site identifier.
  • Our own visit counters — we count page views, form submissions and taps on our phone number on our own servers. Counts only: no cookie and no identifier.
  • Google tag (Google Ads and Google Analytics) — loads on every page and sets cookies (for example _ga and Google’s advertising cookies, which can last up to about 13 months). Google uses it to measure visits and which advertisements lead to an enquiry, and for remarketing — showing our ads to people who have visited this site. See “Advertising and Conversion Measurement” below.
  • OpenAI Ads pixel — loads on every page, sets a first-party cookie (up to one year) and reports page activity and estimate requests to OpenAI so we can measure our advertising there. If its matching feature is on, it may also send a hashed (scrambled) copy of an email address or phone number entered in our forms.
  • Apollo.io — a website-visitor identification service. It records the pages you visit and may identify the company you work for and, in the United States, may match a visit to a person in Apollo’s own business-contact database. It stores an identifier in your browser.
  • Google Maps Places — powers the address suggestions in our estimate forms.
  • Embedded content — YouTube videos (privacy-enhanced mode, loaded only when you press play), our Instagram feed on the Gallery page (provided by Behold), and the online booking calendar on our Book page (provided by LeadQuik). Each is served by that company and may set its own cookies or collect usage data when it loads.
  • Checkout for THG Gear — if you buy a shirt or hat, payment is handled by Stripe and your order (name, shipping address, items) is sent to Printful, which prints and ships it. We never see or store your card number.

You can set your browser to block or delete cookies and site data, and most browsers offer a private mode. Blocking cookies will not stop you using this website, requesting an estimate, or calling us.

Advertising and Conversion Measurement

We advertise on Google and on OpenAI’s advertising platform. To understand which advertisements actually produce enquiries — rather than paying for clicks that go nowhere — we measure when someone submits our estimate form and when someone taps our phone number. We do not display third-party advertising on this website.

Hashed contact details. If you submit our estimate form, Google’s “enhanced conversions” feature sends your email address and telephone number to Google in hashed form, and the OpenAI pixel may do the same if its matching feature is on. Hashing scrambles the value in your browser before it is sent, so the advertiser receives a fingerprint rather than your actual email address or number. It is used to confirm that an advertisement resulted in an enquiry.

What we never send. We do not sell your information. We do not send your project details or the content of your message to any advertising network.

You can control how Google personalises advertising for you at myadcenter.google.com, and opt out of interest-based advertising across many networks at optout.aboutads.info.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personally identifiable information to third parties. We may disclose your information to trusted service providers who assist us in operating our business (for example, scheduling software, SMS messaging platforms, and payment processors), provided they agree to keep your information confidential; as required by law, including in response to subpoenas, court orders, or legal proceedings; or in connection with a sale, merger, or transfer of our business assets.

Data Security

We use reasonable and industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

Our website and services are not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Access and Updates to Your Information

You may access, correct, update, or request deletion of your personally identifiable information by contacting us using the information below. We will respond to your request within 30 days.

Opting Out

You may opt out of promotional/marketing emails by clicking the "Unsubscribe" link in our emails. You may opt out of text messages by replying STOP. Please note you may continue to receive transactional communications related to active projects.
