Forsyth County has grown up around GA-400 faster than almost anywhere in North Metro Atlanta, and Cumming's flooring reflects it. South of downtown, in subdivisions like Vickery, a live-work-play community Hedgewood Homes started building in the mid-2000s, and out through the Sharon Springs growth corridor, most houses are two-story production builds from the last twenty years with engineered or builder-grade solid oak in three-inch planks, plus a finished basement carved into a sloped Forsyth lot more often than not. Head northeast toward Lake Lanier, and the picture changes. A Cumming refinish: a historic 1900 home

In this Cumming, GA walkthrough, we restored the floors of a home built in 1900 that is being turned into a bridal suite on a farm. It had four kinds of wood: heart pine in the entry, No. 2-grade red oak in the living areas, pine in the bedrooms, and cypress in the bathroom and laundry.
